Terms of use
Plain-English terms for using the forum. By creating an account or posting you agree to them.
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Who we are
Turkey Travel Forum (https://www.turkeytravelforum.com) is operated by Turkey Travel Forum, based in Türkiye (“we”). Contact: hello@turkeytravelforum.com.
2. The service
The forum is a free, community-run discussion site about travel in Türkiye. Content is written by members and reflects their personal experience and opinions. We are not a travel agency, do not sell anything, and are not party to any booking you make with businesses mentioned here.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Sign-in is by one-time email link or, optionally, Google. Keep access to your email account secure; anyone with your email can sign in as you.
- One account per person. Don't create accounts to evade a ban, vote for yourself, or impersonate someone else.
- Your username is public and cannot be changed. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See section 5 for what happens to your posts.
4. Acceptable use
The community guidelines are part of these terms. In particular you agree not to:
- post advertising, affiliate links, or promote a business without disclosing your connection to it;
- post fake reviews or pay for, solicit or coordinate them;
- post other people's personal data, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory;
- post content you don't have the right to share (e.g. copied articles, other people's photos);
- scrape the site at scale, attack it, or try to bypass rate limits, Turnstile checks or moderation.
5. Your content and licence
You own what you post. By posting you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce, adapt (e.g. format, excerpt, translate) and distribute it as part of operating the forum, including in search engines, feeds and archives. This licence is needed so that threads remain coherent: if you delete your account, your posts remain and are shown as written by a deleted user. You can edit or ask for removal of individual posts; we will remove posts that contain your personal data or that you have a legal right to have removed, and may remove others at our discretion.
You are responsible for what you post. Make sure you have the right to share any text or image you upload.
6. Moderation
We and volunteer moderators may edit, hide, move, lock or delete content and may warn, temporarily ban or permanently ban accounts, following the ladder described in the guidelines. We may act without notice in serious cases. We may also remove content in response to valid legal requests. Moderation decisions can be appealed by contacting us.
7. No warranty; your responsibility
Content is provided “as is”. Prices, visa rules, timetables and safety conditions change; we don't verify member posts and make no promise that any information is accurate, complete or current. Always check official sources before relying on it, especially for visas, entry rules and health matters. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we don't control or endorse them.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the forum or reliance on its content, including decisions about bookings, travel or safety. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Availability and changes
The forum is run as a free service and may be interrupted or changed. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the forum after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and nothing here takes those away.
